And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.” 1 Peter 4:8 we know that all of us did not come to this marriage institution from the same place, it wasn’t love at first sight for some of, it wasn’t teenage love, butterflies, cupid shooting arrows into our hearts with xoxo, sleepless nights can’t live without you kinda lovie dovie feelings for some of us either. Some of us get here by conveniences, others get here by opportunity, others by arrangements and yes most of us get here by the good ole fashion love! but lets keep it real. While we are getting undress here, some of us did not love the other spouse in the same vein as they did love us, but we are here to tell you, you can do and get away with a lot if you love each other. Love the one you are with not the one you wished you had. Love the woman or the man who decides to take that walk with you to the alter or the court house or wherever it was where you say I do before a Pastor or an officer.

Too many of us are in marriage relationship and we never give it a shot, we had one foot in and one foot out. What if you decided to love the woman/man that you marry? you know what I mean when I say it because you know that you do not love that person wholeheartly so this things was bound to fail at some point, its been held together with duct tape for years, three kids in and you move from love to just obligation…you know who you are, yes, you. Love it that binding agent, the thing that lets you tolerate that person bad habits like when they fart that dirty fart in bed and you laugh about it so hard and still cuddle instead of push them off on the ground and break a hip. That kind of love. Love by itself cannot build a full marriage, you need all those other pillars to really experience the joy of a sweet successful marriage but love covers a multitude of sin.

Try it. Try to love unconditionally, try to love your wife or husband without compromise. I dare you to try it for a day! You would begin to see some qualities in that person that you didn’t even knew they had, then all of a sudden you are seeing more good things that you can work with instead of all the bad that you would normally see because you are living in that “one foot in one foot out” mindset and that’s how a happy marriage is set up and that the covering part that loving couples do for each other. No one is perfect, the grass is not green on the other side, what they have on the other size is turf. Its looks real but its not. What you have if real, you just need to water it with love to see the full potential

“Too many of us are in marriage relationship and we never give it a shot, we had one foot in and one foot out”.

love is a beautiful thing
  • Love the one you are with
  • Love by itself cannot build a marriage
  • Don’t mistake the grass on the other side for turf
  • But in certain circumstances and owing
